Lesson THREE...

Dear Fellow Entrepreneur...

Last lesson we learned about using text banner ads on your site to "direct" the existing traffic to where you want it to go.

This lesson we'll focus on...

* How To Use The Wealth Of Information In Your Own Web Site Traffic Statistics To Focus Your Offers And Better Market Yourself *

It is an unfortunate Human impulse to always be 'looking over the fence', eyeing off someone else's success... looking for the next big 'thing'.

And, on the net this is such an easy thing to do, because day in and day out one is being bombarded with the next great opportunity, "get into this while it's hot (yada yada)". I'm sure you know the rhetoric, and have received these email too.

The single most important thing you can do to build your own net success is to FOCUS on the job at hand, to step-by-step build your own net castle (whatever that may be).

Your web site stats (if you have a good back-end analytics system) are a powerful source of valuable marketing information.

For example (if your system has tracking technology included in it, like Solo Build It! systems) you can track everything you do. When you KNOW what's working then all you need do is duplicate it. This saves you a LOT of advertising money.

Recently I ran a test campaign/ promotion on 3 different web systems, eBay, World Time Server and the eAnalyst Optin list. Without a doubt the eAnalyst list out-performed the other two media by something like 750% with its click through ratios.

Now, I would not have known this had I not tracked these mirror campaigns.

Instead of just looking for big numbers in your traffic stats look for consistency and patterns. If you find that certain pages/ or offers on your web site get consistent traffic then that tells you that you have a diamond waiting there to be polished (given your marketing attention).

Closely examine your stats on a regular basis. You'll be completely surprised by what people are actually doing on your web site.

Just another way to 'mine for those diamonds buried in your own backyard'.
